Would a barren cow have milk?
Would a violator of vows
be worthy of your love?
If you like, you mingle with them.
Nijashaanteshwara, but I cannot [Vachana No.1305]
Kaatakutayyagala Punyasthree Rechavve was wife of Kaatakutayya. It seems, Veeragollala was called Kaatakutayya before he became a devotee. Then we must infer that this lady is the wife of Veeragollala. Gollala hailed from Golageri of Sinthgi taluk in Bijapur district. He was a shepherd by occupation. Even Rechavve must have belonged to Golageri and only subsequently she must have gone to Kalyaana. Only one vachana has been traced to her with the signature Nijashaanteshwara.
