ಆವ ಜಾತಿಯಾದಡೂ ಆಗಲಿ;
ಪುರಾತನ ಚಾರಿತ್ರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದು,
ಗುರುಲಿಂಗಜಂಗಮಕ್ಕೆ ಅರ್ಥಪ್ರಾಣಾಭಿಮಾನಮಂ ಕೊಟ್ಟು,
ಅಹಂಕಾರವಳಿದಂತಹ ಮಹಾತ್ಮರ
ಬಾಯ ತಂಬುಲವ ಮೆಲುವೆ, ಬೀಳುಡಿಗೆಯ ಹೊದಿವೆ.
ಅವರ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಗಳೆರಡನೂ,
ಮಂಡೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಬದುಕುವೆನಯ್ಯಾ.
ಆ ಗಣಂಗಳ ದಾಸನ ದಾಸ ನಾನು,
ಜನ್ಮ ಜನ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಗುವೆ ಕಾಣಾ ಗುಹೇಶ್ವರಾ -2/919^#
Translation:
Whatever be their caste,
I’ll chew the Taambula chewed by those great men
Those who are arrogance-free
And who following the ancient’s footsteps,
Dedicate all their wealth, soul and pride
To Guru, Linga, and Jangama,
I’ll wear their cat-off clothes
And live by carrying their slippers on my head.
I’ll be those Gana’s servant’s servant,
For ever, life after life,
O Guheshwara!

ಕುಲದೊಳಗೆ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ ಕುಲವ ಬೆರಸದೆ
ತಮ್ಮ ನಿಲವ ಬಲಿದಿಪ್ಪವರು ಇನ್ನಾರು ಹೇಳಾ ?
ಹಬ್ಬಿದ ಮೂರು ಬೆಟ್ಟಕ್ಕೆ ತನ್ನ ಮನವ ಹಬ್ಬಲೀಯದೆ
ಲಿಂಗ ಜಂಗಮಕ್ಕೆ ಸವೆಸಿ ಸ್ವಯಲಿಂಗವಪ್ಪರಿನ್ನಾರು ಹೇಳಾ ?
ಸ್ವಯೋ ಲಿಂಗ ಸ್ವಯೋ ಶರಣ ಸ್ವಯೋ ಭೋಗವೆಂದುದಾಗಿ,
ಗುಹೇಶ್ವರಾ-ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶರಣ ಸಂಗನಬಸವಣ್ಣಂಗೆ
ನಮೋ ನಮೋ ಎಂಬೆನು. -2/1127^#
Translation:
Tell me who else could grow to such a great height,
By rejecting the caste in which he is born
Tell me who else could become Linga
By wearing out himself in the service of Linga and jangama
Without allowing his mind to spread to
The three sprawling mountains
Because, he himself is Linga, himself
Sharana and himself the other-self,
Hail, hail to your Sharana,
Sanganabasavanna O Guheshwara!

ಜಾತಿಭೇದಂಗಳನು ಅರಿವುದಯ್ಯಾ.
ಸಾಕ್ಷಾತ್ ಹಿಂದು ಮುಂದ ಹರಿವುದಯ್ಯಾ.
ಪ್ರೀತಿಯಿಂದ ಬೆಳಗು ಮತ್ತಪ್ಪುದಯ್ಯಾ.
ಆದಡೆ,-ಆತ ಗುಹೇಶ್ವರನೆಂದರಿವುದಯ್ಯಾ -2/1204^#
Translation:
Know the differences of castes, Sir,
Tear off the difference between the ‘before’ and and ‘after’, Sir,
Love brings the dawn once again, Sir,
When that happens,
Know that it is Guheshwara, Sir

ಭಕ್ತ ಭಕ್ತನೆಂದೇನು ? ಭವಿಗಳ ಮನೆಯಲುಳ್ಳನ್ನಬರ ಭಕ್ತನೆ ?
ಭಕ್ತ ಭಕ್ತನೆಂದೇನು ? ಜಾತಿ ವರ್ಣಾಶ್ರಮ ಕುಲ ಗೋತ್ರ ನಾಮ ಸೀಮೆಯೆಂಬ
ಷಡುಭ್ರಮೆ ಕಣ್ಣಲ್ಲಿ ಕವಿದು ಓಲಾಡುವನ್ನಬರ ಭಕ್ತನೆ ?
ಭಕ್ತ ಭಕ್ತನೆಂದೇನು ? ಪಂಚಸೂತಕವುಳ್ಳನ್ನಬರ ಭಕ್ತನೆ ?
ಭಕ್ತ ಭಕ್ತನೆಂದೇನು ? ತನುವಂಚಕ, ಮನವಂಚಕ ಧನವಂಚಕ ಭಕ್ತನೆ ?
ಅಲ್ಲಲ್ಲ ನಿಲ್ಲು ಮಾಣು,-
ಇವರು ಸಾವಿಂಗೆ ಸಂಬಳಗುಂಡನಿರಿದು ಕೊಂಬವರು,
ಭಕ್ತರಪ್ಪರೆ ಗುಹೇಶ್ವರಾ ? -2/1412^#
Translation:
What sort of a devotee is he?
If he stays in the house of the worldlings
What sort of a devotee is he?
As long as the six-fold illusion of
Caste, creed, colour, clan, name and place fill the eye?
What sort of a devotee is he?
If he is a destroyer of body, mind and wealth
No, no, how can they be devotees
Who obtain the lease of life?
By paying death his due,
O Guhšvara!
